Immigration Shelters for Minors to Close
WESLACO – Emergency short-term shelters for minors in the Rio Grande Valley will be closing.
There are at least eight International Education Services Inc. facilities in the Valley.
In a statement, a spokesperson said after 30 years, the non-profit organization will close all centers on March 31.
The emergency shelters houses children in foster care to unaccompanied minors who came into the U.S. illegally.
No word on where the children in their care will be taken to or how many employees will be laid off.
