Local non-profit plans Juneteenth scholarship event

A nonprofit will host a Juneteenth-themed inaugural scholarship "celebration dinner" benefitting high school seniors on Friday.
The event, hosted by Village in the Valley, will recognize local African American students with scholarships whole promoting black history in South Texas.
Tickets to the event are sold out but donations for the scholarship fund are being accepted online.
