Local Organization Creates Collaboration Effort to Improve Emergency Response during Disasters
WESLACO – A local organization has a new way of responding to Rio Grande Valley disasters.
The Lower Rio Grande Valley Development Council put together a collaboration called ‘Community Organizations Active in Disaster’.
“What it is, is it brings together community organizations, working with government entities, to be a little more proactive in times of any disaster,” says the organization’s executive director, Ron Garza.
Garza explains the goals is to coordinate a more effective emergency response and to efficiently deliver resources.
