McAllen Man Files Police Report after Mechanic Keeps Check
MCALLEN – A McAllen man who paid $500 to a mechanic who didn’t complete the work has filed a police report.
Pete Romero says he’s attempted to contact the mechanic for about a month. He says he’s glad he paid with a check.
“Be a little more careful, and never give out cash. Make out a check, and get all the information that is necessary. That way, you'll have the documentation,” he says.
Romero was told turning over his license number, the mechanic’s name, phone number and a receipt with the check number should help investigators reach the mechanic.
