McAllen police searching for 15-year-old girl
Update: The McAllen Police Department announced on Wednesday that Crystal Vanessa Garza had been located and reunited with her family.
Original Story: The McAllen Police Department announced Monday that officers are searching for a 15-year-old girl.
Crystal Vanessa Garza, 15, of McAllen apparently left her home voluntarily in January.
"Her voluntary absence from her residence was reported to McAllen Police Officers on January 6, 2020 at approximately 9:59 a.m.," according to a news release from the McAllen Police Department. "She was last seen in the area of the 800 Block of S. 26th Street McAllen, Texas."
On Monday afternoon, the department sent a news release to local media that stated: "There is concern about her wellbeing and police officers are searching for her."
The department didn't release any additional details.
Garza stands about 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighs about 140 pounds, according to the department. She has brown hair and brown eyes.
