Neighbors Remain Vigilant After Aggravated Robbery in Pharr
PHARR - Pharr police needs the public’s help to find three gunmen accused of shooting two people in their home.
Authorities said a 48-year-old and a 15-year-old are in the hospital recovering from gunshot wounds.
Officers responded to a home on the 900 block of East Dreyer Street on Monday. Surveillance video showed when armed men obtruded the home and shot the man and his nephew.
Pharr resident Maggie Rodriguez lives one house down from where the aggravated robbery took place. She said her dog alerted her to the noise outside.
“When I came out, I saw that the ambulance had just left and then the police started walking around,” she explained. “They came to my door and asked me if I had heard any shots or anything, and I said no.”
Rodriguez said the neighborhood is safe and people are usually outside.
“It is nerve-racking because she has her grandkids here and people in the apartment have kids. And we’re all here and we have never had nothing like that happen to us,” she said.
Rodriguez said she’ll also be vigilant in her community.
“I just wish that everybody - we all keep an eye on each other and if we see something call the police,” she said.
Pharr police are asking people to help identify the suspects caught on video. The motive for the home invasion is still unknown.
Anyone with information on the case is asked to call Pharr Crime Stoppers at 956-787-8477.
