Off-Duty Officer Accidentally Shot in McAllen
UPDATE (11:15 p.m.): According to the McAllen Police Department, the officer's condition has stabilized.
Officials say the officer is pregnant and her pregnancy in jeopardy as a result of the incident.
She is receiving emergency medical care.
The shooting incident is under criminal investigation.
MCALLEN – Police are investigating the scene where an officer was accidentally shot Friday.
The officer was shot at her home located on the 6100 block of North 46th Street in McAllen at around 9 p.m.
The McAllen Police Department Chief tells CHANNEL 5 NEWS the officer has been transported to a local hospital for emergency medical care.
The incident is currently under investigation, according to the McAllen Fire Department.
