Old air conditioning systems could be a possible COVID-19 spreader in Rio Grande Valley school districts.
ELCO President Frank Garcia said some schools are still using systems that don’t have the technology to kill any type of bacteria unless they are adding something to those systems.
"You bring in 105 —110 degree air into the building, you mix it with 55 degree air, it's just a spawning place for bacteria growth,” Garcia said.
