Parents indicted for capital murder of infant in Elsa face additional charges
A couple indicted for allegedly killing their infant child in 2018 are now facing additional charges.
Beverly Garcia and Braulio Villegas went before Hidalgo County 370th District Court Judge Noe Gonzalez on Tuesday. The couple are both facing capital murder charges and injury to a child charges.
In March 2018, a hospital reached out to Elsa police after the baby was placed on life support before dying. Staff at the hospital said the infant was severely bruised and had a fractured skull.
Villegas is being held without bond. Bond for Garcia is set at $15,000.
