Pharr Man Arrested in Aggravated Robbery Investigation

MCALLEN – McAllen police arrested a suspect in an aggravated robbery. Investigators said he robbed an 80-year-old man at gunpoint.
Ricardo Zavala, 37, of Pharr was charged with aggravated robbery and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.
He’s also facing possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana.
Police said Zavala pulled up next to an elderly man at a restaurant on the 600 block of South 10th Street. He pulled out a gun and demanded the man’s wallet.
Zavala took off but was later caught.
He’s being held on a $206,000 bond.
