Residents at McAllen Mobile Home Park Questioning Citations

UPDATE (9/27): The city of McAllen says they are working with residents who received green building permits notices.

The notices, not citations as previously reported, are issued for storage sheds, carports and porches on properties.

"It was not our staff going out there doing any kind of investigative work. It was actually a call and or a visit that we go from people in the RV park itself," explains McAllen City Manager Roel Rodriguez. "So it's our duty that we understand what the issues are, if there are violations that we clearly identify how to clear those up and that's the process we're doing."

Some residents say they've lived in the park for years.

Rodriguez adds they're giving homeowners time to go to the city and obtain the permit.

MCALLEN – Families at a McAllen trailer home park are questioning building permit notices.

Many homeowners at Triple B Mobile Park received green slips for their storage sheds, carports and porches.

They want to know why they have to pay these fines after going years without ever having this issue.

KRGV’s Angelo Vargas made a visit to the building and permits office in McAllen to find answers.

The city says they are looking into the problem and will issue a statement regarding the permits.
