Saharan Dust Causing Damage to A/C Units in the Valley
WESLACO – Saharan dust is making its way back to the Rio Grande Valley and could wreak havoc on air conditioning units.
The dust can cause several problems, including allergies, hindering tropical activity and damage to air condition units.
KRGV’s Cecilia Gutierrez spoke with the owner of a local air condition repair company. He says the dust has kept them busy.
"This really has been one of the highest peak repair seasons,” says Alex Navarro, owner of 281 Cool Zone.
Navarro explains the dust can clog up the compressor in the units.
