San Benito CISD turning over info on sale of district computers
The San Benito consolidated Independent School district announced they will turn over information to the state attorney general's office related to the sale of district computers.
The computers were sold to David Avila — the co-owner of a Brownsville recycling center in Brownsville — before they were wiped clean.

Avila said he bought the computers at an auction and found the names, phone numbers, addresses, grades of students and other sensitive information on the computer’s hard drives.
According to Avila, the district offered to buy back the hard drives from him if he’d sign a non-disclosure agreement, which he said he wasn’t comfortable with.
