MISSION – A large crowd got involved in a board meeting at the Sharyland Independent School District on Monday night after police say a hazing incident happened in Corpus Christi.

More concern from frustrated school district taxpayers. Some parents and former students saying the words “incident” and “hazing” are not enough to describe what allegedly happened.

The district is sticking to their position it has previously released.

Benjamin Castillo, an attorney whose firm provides legal counsel for many Rio Grande Valley school districts, not for Sharyland ISD, says federal law creates consequences for schools to release details that identify students.

Castillo added even describing what happened in a more general way can be a violation for the district.

Meanwhile on social media, posts are spreading expressing frustrations and ideas of what might have happened.

Corpus Christi police say the investigation is ongoing.
