Starr Co. DA Responds to Lawsuit Claims
RIO GRANDE CITY – The Starr County district attorney is responding to claims about his office’s election fraud investigation.
CHANNEL 5 NEWS reported Monday two candidates who lost in their election bids filed a lawsuit contesting the results.
Starr County District Attorney Omar Escobar Jr. sent us the following statement, which reads in part:
“It seems like the plaintiffs are complaining that not enough people voted by mail, yet they also complain that not enough people have been arrested.
The Elections Administration Department only recently was able to make copies of carrier envelopes.
Be assured that both my office and the Attorney General’s Office will review all mail-ins, continue ongoing investigations and take all appropriate actions necessary to curb mail-in and voter fraud.”
