Teen Attempts to Smuggle 2 Immigrants in Lyft Car
MISSION – A Mission teenager accused of smuggling immigrants for $500 in a Lyft car is in jail.
Jose Vigil, 17, hired a Lyft driver for the smuggling attempt but, didn’t tell the driver two of his passengers were in the country illegally according to Sullivan City police.
Court documents say he used his mother’s credit card and sister’s Lyft app to book the ride.
He was caught at a traffic stop because the Lyft driver’s license plates were missing.
