Valley doctor explains how long viruses can last on surfaces
WESLACO – Germs are all around us. At home, on every surface that can be touched, but how long does it stick around?
It’s not exactly something people can escape. Bacteria and viruses are all around. Not all of them cause disease, but those that do tend to pop up this time of year.
Each person is estimated to have trillions of cells. For each cell, an estimated 10 microorganisms.
The amount of time a virus can be active on a surface varies. Eventually they need a host.
