WESLACO – A Rio Grande Valley veteran is in the hospital but still wants to cast his vote.
We reached out to the Hidalgo County Elections Administration Office. They helped arrange a way to get a ballot to the veteran.
"My sister is going to go get the application and then bring it to me. My husband will fill it up and then we'll send it back. Or, I, hopefully by that time, somebody could stay with him and I can go take it and thank the election committee,” says his wife, Mary Lou Prudencio.
You can apply for an emergency ballot by mail; an elections representative will pick it up and deliver it to the patient.
