WESLACO – On Tuesday, the Rio Grande Valley Regional Alert System sent out an alert for 13-year-old Ana Delicia Vasquez.
They marked her as an endangered missing person. Her father wants her back home safe.
The parent or guardian was granted custody of 13-year-old Ana Vasquez. Her guardian is her brother-in-law. He said he went to check on her Saturday morning.
“So I went inside and I saw the windows open and it was weird because, it was weird, the gate from the house was open too and I never leave it like that,” said the parent.
He wanted to hide his identity for protection. He said he has heard from Ana.
"We already talked to her through the phone and we heard in the back. He was talking to an old guy and I was trying to keep the conversation with her and she said she was with a friend,” said parent.
Dad and the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office said she's in danger.
Investigators said she was last seen in a 2004 Maroon Chevy Tahoe.
They believe the man on the other end of the phone call was 35-year-old Gregorio Medina.
Her father said he's not going to stop until Ana is found.
“I have three days without no sleep. So I have been looking for her back and back and forth,” said parent.
He wants his daughter home safe and hopes the county works quickly.
Ana Vasquez is five feet two inches tall, she weighs about 115 pounds and was last seen wearing a grey shirt and grey shorts. She has brown hair and brown eyes.
Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office says they are looking for the Tahoe and it could have licensed plates FTV-1426 OR GTW-4076.
