Willacy Co. Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Bust
RAYMONDVILLE – A 23-year-old driver from Los Fresnos is behind bars after more than 200 pounds of marijuana were discovered inside his vehicle.
A trooper pulled the man over for a traffic violation Saturday afternoon on US 77, north of Conely Road.
After further inspection, troopers found 24 bundles of marijuana inside a hidden compartment in the bed of the truck.
The drug’s street value was estimated to be more than $1 million.
The man is in custody at the Willacy County jail.
