BROWNSVILLE – An 82-year-old Mexican national is in custody after a drug bust in Brownsville.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials say the man was directed to secondary inspection at the Veterans International Bridge on Sunday.

During the search, CBP officers found $348,000 in narcotics in his vehicle, including packages of heroin and methamphetamine.

The driver was turned over to Homeland Security Investigations.
