EDINBURG – A male body found in the Rio Grande River was identified through DNA analysis. Authorities are now searching for his next of kin.

On March 26, 2016, Hidalgo County Sheriff’s deputies, with assistance from Border Patrol and Mission Fire Department, recovered the body around 10:00 a.m.

The man’s body had a tattoo on his left leg above his ankle of two hearts saying “Luis Loves Angie.”

Investigators identified the man to be Jose Luis Martinez-Chavarria.
