EAGLE PASS – Border Patrol is increasing their presence for the migrant caravan heading to Eagle Pass.

The agency reiterated that there are not any changes to the current asylum process.

The state and federal government is sending a message to members of the caravan.

"If somebody chooses and makes that choice to enter illegally at a point other than the point or entry we want to remind folks that that is a criminal offense, they will be arrested and they will be handled accordingly.”

If someone is arrested, the results will be handled on a case-by-case basis.

KRGV’s Christian von Preysing reports from Eagle Pass with the details.
