BROWNSVILLE – The Brownsville Fire Department donated used fire equipment to a fire department in Mexico.

The donation was sent to the city of Heroica Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico and included three decommissioned vehicles and several sets of protective gear and safety boots.

Interim Fire Chief Jarrett Sheldon met with Matamoros Fire Chief Gustavo Arnoldo Amador Flores and staff to complete the donation.

“The City of Brownsville is proud to assist our neighboring cities in their time of need as a gesture of goodwill and teamwork,” said Brownsville Interim Fire Chief Jarrett Sheldon. “We are excited to know that equipment that was used to serve the residents of Brownsville can continue to be of assistance to the Matamoros Fire Department”.
