Cameron County commissioners are considering a tax break for two liquid natural gas companies in the Rio Grande Valley.

Texas LNG and Rio Grande LNG requested the tax breaks, and Cameron County commissioners voted to publish a public notice to let the public know about the proposal. 

The county has said the investment in LNG is expected to bring one thousand jobs during the construction phase, and permanent work for 75 people. 

Commissioners have not approved the tax break, but the final approval on the proposal is expected in June.
