On Wednesday, Cameron County officials announced three additional deaths related to the coronavirus. The newly reported deaths were all residents at two separate Harlingen nursing homes.

According to a county news release, the deceased were identified as a 79-year-old woman and an 83-year-old man from the Veranda Nursing Home and an 85-year-old female resident from Windsor Atrium.

Officials say seven Veranda Nursing Home residents have died due to the virus and three deaths are linked to Windsor Atrium.

As of April 22, there have been 12 deaths reported in Cameron County linked to the virus.

They also announced 12 more people tested positive for the virus. Raising the total number of confirmed cases to 333. Of the total, 148 patients been cleared and released from isolation, according to the news release.
