WESLACO – Some employees at a Weslaco gym were left out of work following the June floods.

Eddie Sada, co-owner of STX GYM, says 1,200 monthly members once walked through the building.

“At one time we had a great gym going, a great vibe, a lot of local members,” he says.

Now, they’re not the only ones left dry after the floods.

“We had 15 employees that were working here, almost about full-time the majority of them,” says Sada.

He says most of them now have to find new jobs.

KRGV’s Taylor Winkel learned a new condensed version of STX GYM will be built behind the original property.
