MCALLEN – An engineering firm is responding after a raid of their building in McAllen took place this week. Officials are accusing the FBI of putting on a show for its actions.

The McAllen offices of Dannenbaum Engineering Corporation were just one of the four locations FBI agents went into and came out with boxes of paperwork and hard drives.

As this was happening in McAllen, the FBI was also at Dannenbaum offices in Laredo, San Antonio and Houston.

The FBI will only say they were lawfully present at the locations.

Dannenbaum officials said its records were seized.

The company’s lawyer said Wednesday’s action raises troubling questions. Attorney Joel Androphy said he was in contact with federal authorities for weeks.

He said if asked, the company would have voluntarily produced all the records that were seized.

Dannenbaum said in a statement, “We also are reviewing options for seeking an investigation and federal ethics probe of whether federal employees leaked sensitive investigative information for news coverage that led to clearly false information about the company being published by at least one national news organization."
