WESLACO – The government is using fake social media accounts to screen immigrants.

Some applicants say that's crossing the line.

According to a privacy impact assessment released by the Department of Homeland Security:

"Immigrants applying for green cards, citizenship, work visas, and other immigration benefits are subject to being investigated this way if fraud, public safety, or national security concerns are identified."
