WESLACO - Long touchdown runs on the first play from scrimmage put two Valley football teams behind the eight ball on the first night of the UIL Bi-District playoffs,  Pace and Santa Maria both played from behind from the opening minute as part of an 0 for 4 night for local schools.  Ray beat Pace in Brownsville 42-7.  Corpus Christi Memorial stretched its winning streak this season to 11 games with a 44-14 decision over Brownsville Veterans.  Rockport-Fulton shutout Progreso 55-0.  Shiner blanked Santa Maria 76-0.  CHANNEL 5's Dave Brown has the First & Goal round-up.
