NEAR SULLIVAN CITY – A Hidalgo County woman says she’s concerned about the possibility of militia groups showing up on her property.

Cuevitas resident Elisa Solis says she sees people enter the U.S. illegally every day.

She says she’s more concerned with armed civilians heading their way south to the border amid the arrival of a caravan.

KRGV’s John Paul Barajas reached out to Sullivan City Police Chief Richard Ozuna.

“If they don’t want the people on their property, we’ll be out there to let them know they are not welcomed there,” he explains, “and they need to move one and ask for permission of property owners.”

He says his main priority is residents’ safety.
