Lawsuit for Citizenship Question in 2020 Census to Move Forward
WESLACO –The lawsuit involving Rio Grande Valley counties against the citizenship question in the upcoming census survey will move forward.
Judge Jesse Furman of the Southern District Court of New York did not grant the federal government’s request to dismiss the lawsuit.
The lawyers representing Hidalgo and Cameron counties have until Oct. 12 to compile their case.
