WESLACO – Leaders from both sides of the border met on Wednesday to discuss business flow.

District 41 State Representative Bobby Guerra and Tamaulipas State Representative Luis Cantu say progress in the Rio Grande Valley and neighboring Mexican cities will flourish if there’s a regional effort.

They agree one of the biggest economic engines is agriculture.

"We need to inform people in Texas that the doors are open in Tamaulipas. There's conditions put in place that allow them to travel through our state safely, like they deserve,” says Cantu.

KRGV’s Daisy Martinez has the details.
