A woman at the center of a nationwide manhunt appeared before a judge Saturday.

56-year-old Lois Riess was arrested on South Padre Island Thursday night.

She's a person of interest in the shooting death of her husband in Minnesota and the killing of a woman in Florida.

South Padre Island Police Chief, Randy Smith tells CHANNEL 5 NEWS detectives executed a warrant Friday night to search Riess' vehicle and the hotel room she was staying in.

"Upon searching the room, they were able to recover two weapons," Smith said. "They recovered a 22 caliber pistol and then a nine millimeter pistol."

Riess is charged with several crimes, including second-degree murder, grand theft of a motor vehicle and criminal use of personal information.

She is currently held without bond.

Riess will be transported to the Cameron County Jail until an extradition hearing is complete.

Then, she'll be taken to Florida for further investigation.
