EDINBURG – After almost two decades on the run, a man who killed two people was sentenced to 18 years in prison.
Jorge Armando Gonzalez was involved in the crash on Nov. 2000 at the intersection of Sioux and Jackson roads in Pharr.
Juan Medina Jr. and Kristy Maldonado were killed.
Gonzalez was released after posting bond and was on the run for the next 15 years.
The case was reopened last October when law enforcement arrested him during a traffic stop.
