Man Wanted for Kidnapping Detained While Trying to Flee to Mexico
HIDALGO – A man wanted for kidnapping in Edinburg was taken into custody Monday as he tried to flee the country.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection say the driver of an SUV was referred to a secondary station at the Hidalgo International Bridge.
A fingerprint check was conducted on 37-year-old Evaristo Barcenas Zarco, of Michoacan, Mexico.
CBP officers found an Edinburg municipal court judge had issued a warrant for his arrest on Oct. 2000.
Barcenas Zarco was taken into custody and turned over to Edinburg police.
