HIDALGO – A 48-year-old man was arrested for sexual assault and indecency with a child at the Hidalgo Port of Entry.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers say on Thursday, March 22, Luis Enrique Beltran Pena, a Mexican national, arrived as a pedestrian and told them he had a warrant for his arrest out of Mission.

After checking a national database, CPB officers confirmed he was wanted for sexual assault and indecency with a child, both second-degree felonies.

Pena was taken into custody and turned over to the Mission Police Department.
