WESLACO – Mexico is recruiting truckers for immediate employment to tackle the gas shortage.

Recently, the shortage has been a struggle and has put pressure on Mexican drivers.

Mexico’s Secretary of Labor and Social Welfare says they’re now recruiting 2,000 tanker truck drivers.

KRGV’s Christian von Preysing spoke with University of Texas-Rio Grande Valley economist Salvador Contreras. He says this temporary fix won’t replace the efficiency of pipelines.
