HIDALGO – A man was arrested after more than 19 packages containing alleged cocaine was found in his vehicle.

The Mexican national arrived at the Hidalgo International Bridge on Wednesday, Mar. 21 driving a black 2007 Ford Five Hundred.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers referred him to secondary inspection where they later found more than 48 pounds of alleged cocaine.

The drugs and vehicle were seized.

The 53-year-old driver was arrested and turned over to Homeland Security Investigations.
