National Guard Soldiers Head to Valley to Aid with Rescues

WESLACO – National Guard soldiers are headed to the Rio Grande Valley to help out victims of severe weather conditions. 

A spokesperson says they're sending transportation crews and aviation equipment. 

On Wednesday, members of the State National Guard assisted law enforcement.

The Texas Guard says forces are pre-positioned in Corpus Christi, Victoria and Beaumont in the event of extreme weather.
