EDINBURG – Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office has issued a regional alert for a missing woman.

According to a press release, 61-year-old Amelia Benavides was last seen Wednesday around 1 p.m. on the 4300 block of Beth Drive in Edinburg.

She’s described to be five-foot five inches tall, weighs 135 pounds, has brown eyes and brown hair; also has burn marks on her face.

Authorities says she’s wearing a LSW pink jacket and red pants.
