MCALLEN – As the city of McAllen prepares to relocate an immigrant respite center, those nearby are voicing their concerns.

The city worked with Catholic Charities to select and approve a new spot near the McAllen Bus Station – they believe this spot will work better.

The owner of Dos Rios Textiles, a business that has been running for 55 years, says he’s concerned the next move could attract more homeless people and traffic.

One resident who lives near the current location tells us she’s happy they’ve found a new location but isn’t happy that they’ve given them another month there.

KRGV’s Christian von Preysing explains the city must work out a few details before the move is made.
