PEÑITAS – A portion of Tom Gill Road in Peñitas will be closed to traffic beginning March 7 for a city project.

City officials said 3 Mile Road to Pino Street will be closed off and traffic will be rerouted beginning at 9 a.m. Thursday and expected to last until March 19 at 6 p.m. The closure is part of a drainage improvement project.

Residential traffic will be rerouted through Pino Street to Liberty Road and up to 3 Mile. Residents will be allowed to access their homes during the closures.

Other drivers are advised to avoid the area.
