Sugarland Woman Sentenced to 11 years for Fatal Hit and Run on SPI

BROWNSVILLE – A Sugarland woman will spend the next 11 years in a state prison.

Daisy Joy Decker, 21, appeared in court Wednesday morning.

She pleaded guilty to nine charges including intoxication manslaughter, intoxication assault with a vehicle and accident involving serious bodily injury.

In 2017, Decker was arrested after hitting and killing a Los Fresnos woman and injuring others during spring break.

Police say the victims were walking in the pedestrian lane of Gulf Boulevard.
