LAGUNA VISTA – The Better Business Bureau is warning taxpayers about callers pretending to work for the IRS or a Social Security office.   

The caller asks for the person’s Social Security number for verification.

The president of BBB, Dolores Salinas, says the IRS already has that information so there’s no need for them to ask.

The Laguna Vista Police Department reminds people to never give out their personal information over the phone.
