Brownsville Couple Killed in Rollover Crash
KENEDY COUNTY - Two Brownsville residents were killed south of the Sarita checkpoint Saturday afternoon.
DPS Lieutenant Johnny Hernandez tells CHANNEL 5 NEWS the couple was travelling north when the driver lost control of their Ford Explorer.
According to Hernandez, the SUV overturned multiple times.
He says the passenger was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and was ejected from the vehicle.
The driver was identified as 51-year-old Maria De Jesus Garcia, the passenger Francisco Radamez Garcia.
Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
DPS continues to investigate the cause of the accident.
