WESLACO – U.S. passport “execution fees” are expected to increase by next month.

The U.S. Department of State announced starting April 2, applicants using the DS-11 form will have to pay $10 more, bumping the fee from $25 to $35.

The form is for first-time applicants older than 16, children younger than 16, and for those who have lost a passport or reported one stolen.

The new fee does not apply to those who are renewing passports by mail using the DS-82 form.
