Valley Attorney Facing Bribery Charges Pleads Not Guilty
MCALLEN – A Rio Grande Valley attorney facing bribery charges was granted bond Thursday.
Roel Alanis is facing six counts of bribery and one count of conspiracy to commit bribery.
He pleaded not guilty before the federal judge in Brownsville Thursday morning.
That information would later be used to try to enlist new clients.
The government believes it happened from Feb. 2018 through Feb. 2019.
The three employees have a trial of their own scheduled for Sept. 16 for selling the information.
Alanis was granted a $100,000 bond that will require a 10% deposit.
