MCALLEN--Christmas means something different to everyone. CHANNEL 5 NEWS reached out the valley leaders about what it means to them.

"It's one of those special days, if not, the special day of the year for me as a law enforcement officer because we get to spend time with the family; special holidays but also I get to spend a lot of time with my secondary family which is law enforcement," said San Juan Police Chief Juan Gonzalez.

"A day of giving, day of spending with the family and giving thanks for the one who gave us everything," said McAllen Health Director Josh Ramirez.

"Many families,all our families there's always something that happens where we hurt each other and we need to learn how to forgive and how to forget what has happened in the past," said Sister Norma Pimentel, who runs the Sacred Heart Respite Center.

"What Christmas means to me, peace on earth," said McAllen Mayor Jim Darling.
