WESLACO – A Rio Grande Valley man says he almost lost thousands of dollars because of an issue with an ATM machine.

He tells CHANNEL 5 NEWS he deposited $2,500 in cash into the ATM.

"I put the cash in. It closes," he recalls. "Then, there's like a little process and nothing. It told me to pull my card out, and I go like ‘This is weird, right?’"

He says when he checked his account, the money was missing. Instead of displaying the balance and printing a receipt, the machine simply gave back his card.
